Chad is Here!!

Thursday night, the 10th we went to eat at Provino's for my birthday. After our dinner we called the hospital at 7:00 to find out what time we needed to go to Northside to be induced. We were told that they were at capacity and couldn't take us yet. They said they would call if anything opened up, and if they did not to call at 7 a.m. Zach and I were both very disappointed, we were so ready to get things started and meet our little guy. We went to bed around 10:00 convinced that we would have to wait until the morning. At 11:30 they called and said to be there my 1 a.m., so we got up, got everything ready and loved on Millie for a while.

We arrived at Northside and were admitted shortly after. Then around 3:00 a.m. I was given medicine to help dilate my cervix and start labor. With this medicine I was not able to go to the restroom for 2 hours!!!!! For those of you who know me....that was a big problem. That was the ONLY thing I wanted to do. About an hour after I had been given the medicine I was having extreme back pain and did absolutely no sleeping, Zach on the other hand was passed out. Around 6:30 a.m they took the medicine away because labor was progressing a little too fast on its own. I finally asked for an epidural around noon, it was AWESOME! I should have asked for it sooner! HAHA.

At this point baby Chad's heart rate was all over the place. It would stay steady for a little while and then all of a sudden it would spike or drop. The doctor seemed to think there was some kind of cord compression and told me there was a possibility I might have to have a c-section. I was mentally preparing myself for a c-section. I didn't really want to have one, but would do whatever it took to get Chad here safely. Then labor started progressing quickly. I could feel strong pressure but no pain.  I hadn't really realized that I was getting closer to delivering until the doctor came in at 3:15 p.m. and said that it was time!!! The nurses got everything ready and we started pushing!

And then......after 20 minutes of pushing.......

Zachary Chad Coker II was born on November 11, 2011 at 3:54 p.m.. He weighed 6 pounds even and was 21 inches long. His birthday is the day after mine. I am very glad that he got his own day! I think I got the best birthday present in the entire world. He has a head full of blonde hair and long skinny legs! He loves to have his hands by his face and tries to eat his fingers.

Since delivery things have been busy but wonderful all at the same time.

We came home from the hospital late Sunday evening.  Then Monday morning we had a newborn picture session. I can't wait to see the pictures. I don't know how we are going to narrow down which ones we want. Today, we had Chad's first doctor's appointment with his pediatrician. He has gained all of his birth weight back and is doing fantastic. The doctor fell in love with him. He got an A+ on his report card. We have his 2 week check up next Wednesday.

We have awesome friends and family!!! We have had family over almost everyday to love on him and help us do things that we need to do. Zach's mom and grandmother cleaned our house before we came home from the hospital!!! It is awesome not to think about all the things that need to be done. We can just love on Chad and give him all kinds of love and attention. Yesterday, I had to get out of the house to buy a few necessities that we needed so my mother took me out for awhile. It was great. We also decided to get a  new Christmas Tree.  This year we just didn't want to put in the time or effort to put up our gigantic 9 foot tree that takes about a day and a half to get done completely. We would rather spend time with our little man. It was nice to get out since I'm not much of a home body.

Thank you so much to our families and friends for bringing us meals and offering to do simple things for us. We truly appreciate the love you all have shown us. It is definitely nice not to have to think about what is for dinner and have to cook. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

This little boy has truly stolen both of our hearts. He is the best baby. He hardly ever cries unless he is completely naked. He doesn't even wake up to eat. I have to wake him up to feed him. I can't believe it. We keep wondering when things are going to change...HAHA! But he sure does love to eat! I love watching Zach with him. He is completely in love with him and he is so good with him.  Millie on the other hand is not so in love with Chad. Her world has completely been rocked. Everyday she gets better and better. Today was the fist day she didn't hiss at him. I think she will slowly come around, she just has to realize that he is not a dog and that he is staying for good!

Here are a few pictures that have been taken. Feel free to share this blog with friends and family that have asked how we are doing. Sorry it took so long to update.

Hello World!!

Ready to watch his first FSU game with daddy!

How precious is this face?

This is one of my favorites...

Ready to go home, in my outfit that Nana (Zach's grandmother in Florida) got him.

Hope you enjoyed! Sorry so lengthy!

The Nursery is Only Missing One Thing............. BABY CHAD!

The nursery is finished!! Well, except for baby Chad. I am very very pleased with it. It looks awesome! Here are a few pictures:

Thank you to everyone who helped shower baby Chad with gifts. He will definitely be dressed is style. He has all kinds of fun things to play with.  I can't wait for him to get here so that I can use everything on him.

It is so nice to know that so many people love and care for him and he's not even here yet.

I went to see the perinatologist today for another ultrasound. Everything is still looking great. He was relaxing. He had one arm bent with his hand behind his head. The other hand was up by his shoulder and chin. I guess his hands have been what I have been feeling on my bladder since he is still head down. I am glad to know that he is comfy in there, but he's definitely running out of room.

My blood pressure was a little on the low side last Thursday when I went to the OBGYN. This morning at the perinatologist it was a little low as well. They decided to cut the dose in half again. I am very glad that it is low instead of high. It is an easier fix and has less complications.

I didn't post any ultrasounds pictures because they look just like the previous ones.

As far as I know, they are still planning on inducing me on the 11th. If so, his birthday would be 11/11/11, kinda neat I think. Thursday when I go to the OBGYN I am going to try and get a definitive answer.

As of now it is still a waiting game. I am getting nervous and anxious all at the same time. We just can't wait to see what he looks like.

The nursery is coming along...

The nursery is coming along nicely. Mimi made some curtains for little Chad's room. They were hung this weekend and look great. We have also started to put a few things together. We also hung a "Welcome Baby Coker" sign that Zach's Aunt Jenny and Cousin Kelsey made. Here are a few pictures:

We finally put together the swing that my wonderful coworkers gave us.

I went back to the perinatologist on Monday and had my weekly ultrasound. Baby Chad weighed 5 1/2 pounds. He is getting to be a big boy. Here are a few pictures of his face:

His profile, with his nose and lips.

Baby's face...so precious!

Tomorrow we will be 35 weeks along. So, only about 4 weeks left. It is definitely starting to sink in. Today we went and met with a nurse at the pediatrician's office just to see how things are going to work.

Back to the doctor on Thursday....

Baby Has More Pictures

Here are two pictures from the ultrasound on Monday. The last one may be kind of hard to tell what is what.

Chad's face.

This is his face again. It's turned on it's side. If you turn your head to the right it might help.

I may be able to have a 3-D ultrasound done this coming Monday. I'm not sure if I want it though.  I'm not sure if I want to know what he looks like yet. I think I may just want to wait until he is born, I'm not sure yet.

Our Busy Past 2 Weeks

I have been busy working in the nursery. Zach and I found this wall decal and fell in love with it. He likes the owls. I put it up in stages. Here is a picture of it finished:

We had two wonderful showers this past weekend. One was from my co-workers. Baby Chad got some really great gifts. He got a swing, lots of clothes, books, and other toys. On Saturday Zach's Aunt and Cousin threw another awesome shower. Baby Chad received more great presents. I can't wait to see him in his cute clothes. He got a bouncer, and all the other great essentials for him. It made Zach and I both more excited for him to get here. Both showers were great! Thank you to everyone who attended them and made them so special. Thank you spoiling out little guy!

If you ask me, it looks like Babies-R-Us threw up in our house. Haha. I know...it's just the beginning of all of his stuff!!

I went back to the Perinatologist today for an ultrasound. From this point until he is born Monday is my "ultrasound" day and Thursday is "OB" day. Everything is still going well. My blood pressure is still on the low side so my medicine has been cut again. He is still growing strong. He weighed 4 pounds 5 ounces today. Today he was trying to put his knees, feet, and hands in his mouth. This Wednesday I will be 33 weeks, so about 6 more weeks to go. He is still very active. Here are a few pictures.

Baby Chad's precious face. His eyes are closed in this one.

Here is his face again, this time his eye is open. Look hard for the tiny slit.

This is a profile of his face. Look at those lips.

I will post some pictures from the showers sometime soon.

Baby's New Pictures

I am a little behind on this.  I have had my glucose tolerance test. I did fail the fist one because they told me that I could eat. I then had o do the 3 hour test and have blood drawn every 3 hours. It turned out fine, so I can continue to eat sugar!! YAY! I'm not sure what I would have done without my dairy Oreo's at lunch!

I have had several check ups with my OB/GYN. So far everything is going great. I will probably not go to the 40 week mark of my pregnancy. They may let me go at 39 weeks. Since I have not had any problems with my blood pressure so far, they do not want me to get to the point that I start having problems. They want the baby to continue getting adequate blood supply, and as the pregnancy goes on circulation could decrease.

I went back to the perinatologist this past Monday. I am now 31 weeks. My blood pressure was a little on the low side. If it continues to drop, they will cut down on my medicine dosage.  He was still very active. He was kicking, turning, and rolling. He has the hiccups at least 2-3 times a day, usually after I eat.  He has been staying about in the same spot.

This is baby's profile....you can see his lips, and nose pretty well.

This is baby's face looking straight on. Zach and I have been trying to figure out who he looks like.....both of us...haha!

Most importantly, baby now has a name: Zachary Chad Coker II. We will not refer to him as Junior, we will call him by his middle name, Chad.

Doctor's Appointment Update

This past Tuesday I went back to the perinatologist for an ultrasound of our baby boy. Everything is still looking great! He weighed 2 pounds 4 ounces. He gained a full pound from the last time I went which was 4 weeks prior. Some of the pictures are hard to make out because he wouldn't stay still very long....he is definitely becoming more and more active. He had found a comfortable spot on my right side. I will be 28 weeks this week and am starting to have sciatic pain on my right leg, due to his new comfy spot he's found. One of the ultrasound techs that scanned me was interviewing for a job. The tech that scanned me before the girl that was interviewing told her I was a pretty easy scan. Well, wouldn't you know he made it difficult for her with all of his moving. He was having a good time kicking and blowing bubbles and flipping over right before she took the picture the doctor had asked her to take. It was quite humorous, at least to me, not the girl interviewing for the job.

This is part of baby's face...you can see the start of one eye.

This is baby's arm by his face. There is also a bubble he blew on the right.

Baby's footprints.

I think this is baby's arms crossed.

Baby's head.

Yesterday we also got a mattress for our little man to sleep on. Here is what the crib looks like all put together with bedding and all. It looks so good. Just a few more small things to do and the majority of his room will be done.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. I have to do the glucose tolerance test to check for gestational diabetes. I hear the drink is not so yummy. I'm sure everything will go smoothly. I have a check up with the cardiologist in a couple of weeks since I have not seen him since the beginning of my pregnancy. They will do an echo that day just to make sure everything still looks good as the pregnancy has progressed. We are keeping our fingers crossed, so far the medicine has kept everything under control.

Update soon....
