Doctor's Appointment Update

This past Tuesday I went back to the perinatologist for an ultrasound of our baby boy. Everything is still looking great! He weighed 2 pounds 4 ounces. He gained a full pound from the last time I went which was 4 weeks prior. Some of the pictures are hard to make out because he wouldn't stay still very long....he is definitely becoming more and more active. He had found a comfortable spot on my right side. I will be 28 weeks this week and am starting to have sciatic pain on my right leg, due to his new comfy spot he's found. One of the ultrasound techs that scanned me was interviewing for a job. The tech that scanned me before the girl that was interviewing told her I was a pretty easy scan. Well, wouldn't you know he made it difficult for her with all of his moving. He was having a good time kicking and blowing bubbles and flipping over right before she took the picture the doctor had asked her to take. It was quite humorous, at least to me, not the girl interviewing for the job.

This is part of baby's face...you can see the start of one eye.

This is baby's arm by his face. There is also a bubble he blew on the right.

Baby's footprints.

I think this is baby's arms crossed.

Baby's head.

Yesterday we also got a mattress for our little man to sleep on. Here is what the crib looks like all put together with bedding and all. It looks so good. Just a few more small things to do and the majority of his room will be done.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. I have to do the glucose tolerance test to check for gestational diabetes. I hear the drink is not so yummy. I'm sure everything will go smoothly. I have a check up with the cardiologist in a couple of weeks since I have not seen him since the beginning of my pregnancy. They will do an echo that day just to make sure everything still looks good as the pregnancy has progressed. We are keeping our fingers crossed, so far the medicine has kept everything under control.

Update soon....

And the Rocking Chair is DONE!

Yesterday my friend Wendy and I worked on recovering the rocking chair. It took us about 6 1/2 (hey, we're both perfectionist, and it was going to be done right) hours but it is finished and looks great. We took about an hour break to eat a yummy country dinner that my mother made us, then it was back to work.  Here are some pictures that show our progress...

Before and After.....

And of course, she thinks it's for her....

It's already being put to good use....silly girl!

I could not have done this without the help of Wendy. She was a lifesaver.  It feels good to have something else off my list of things to do. Now, on to the next thing.....when I figure out what it is...

Update on Baby's Room

A couple of weekends ago we put the crib together....once we found the hidden directions! It still needs a mattress, I just put the bedding in it to see what it would look like. I am very pleased so far.

The rocking chair is coming along nicely. It is sanded, stained, and has 3 coats of polyurethane.

My friend Wendy and I are going to recover it this weekend. I can't wait to see what it looks like once we are done.

I have another doctor's appointment with the perinatologist this coming Tuesday. It should just be an ultrasound and blood pressure check. I'm sure there will be new pictures of Baby Coker. I definitely feel like he is growing and he seems to like only the right side of my tummy. He moves all the time, I don't know when he stops and sleeps. I sure hope it doesn't mean he won't sleep when he gets here.
